VINYL
Heat Transfer vinyl, or HTV for short, is a specialty vinyl polymer that can be used on certain fabrics and materials to create designs and promotional products. It comes in a roll or sheet form with an adhesive backing so it can be cut, weeded, and placed on a substrate for heat application.
SCREEN
Screen printing is a printing technique where a mesh is used to transfer ink onto a substrate, except in areas made impermeable to the ink by a blocking stencil. A blade or squeegee is moved across the screen to fill the open mesh apertures with the ink, and a reverse stroke the causes the screen to touch the substrate momentarily along a line of contact. This causes the ink to wet the substrate and be pulled out of the mesh apertures as the screen springs back after the blade/squeegee has passed. One color is printed at a time, so several screens can be used to produce a multicolored image or design
(DTG) DIRECT TO GARMENT
DTG stands for Direct-to-Garment, and refers to a method for textile printing. Unlike other textile printing methods, such as heat transfer or dye sublimation, DTG printing process uses specialized ink in order to print directly onto the garment, using a DTG printer. The fabric fibers soak up the ink, and become part of the garment.
SEMI DYE
Partial Dye Sublimation is a process by which sublimation ink is printed onto a transfer paper. The paper is then transferred to an object or garment under the heat and pressure delivered by a commercial heat press. Sublimation only works on light colored garments made of polyester or given a polyester coating. When the heat and pressure are applied, the dye on the transfer paper sublimates (becomes a gas), and is then absorbed into the polyester itself; the print is then apart of the garment/coating.
FULL DYE
Full Dye Sublimation is a process by which sublimation ink, including a neon ink is printed onto a transfer paper. The paper is then transferred to a white fabric under the heat and pressure delivered by a commercial heat press. When the heat and pressure are applied, the dye on the transfer paper sublimates (becomes a gas), and is then absorbed into the polyester fabric. The printed patterns on the fabric are then cut and sewn together to produce the custom garment.
